Blizzard Entertainment has released a patch for Diablo 4 that temporarily disables the Chosen of Hatred buff, one of the most effective PvP currency farming tools in the game.
In order to receive the buff, you must kill a certain number of players in the Hateful Fields PvP area. If your murder attempt is successful, you will be marked as Hated Chosen and will be displayed on the area map for five minutes. For every successful attack during those five minutes, you'll earn the PvP currency "Seeds of Hatred," which you can cash out if you manage to survive until the timer ends. Everyone's out to get you, though, as those who manage to stop your reign of terror will earn valuable rewards.
However, an undisclosed issue prompted Blizzard to remove the buff during a fix. While the UI popup will still appear when the requirements are met, the buff will no longer appear above the skill bar, and the Grudge Seed reward will not be granted until the issue is resolved.
Meanwhile, Hatefields remains available for PvP combat, allowing players to continue murdering each other even without the promise of the Hateful Chosen buff. Players can also perform other farming activities in Diablo 4's endgame.
